The W. C. T. U. Flower Mission mder the direction of Mrs. Chas. Worden Supt., Sunday afternoon, was a source of great pleasure to the sulïeringones at ihe hospitals. Services were ield in the auditorium, quite a number of the patients attemling, also many citizens. Mrs. Ilurry gave a brief but very nteresting sketch of MissEuniceCassiday's life. Miss Cassiday at the suggestion of Miss Willard, became Nat. Supt. of the Flower Mission, even hough she was for nearly 30 years a uffering invalid. Through her influencie niuch has been done to cheer the uffering all over this country, showing ïow much can be done by one conrined to her room and mostly to her bed. It was one of her last and most successful efïorts to secure the meuns by vliicli to establish a "West Home" for vorking girls. This she accomplished n her own city Louisville, Ky. Oh! -hat there might be more as suecessful n that line of work, for very few know of the thousands living right in our midst, needing every cent they can arn to provide the necessaries for hemselves and i'amily, who cannot' ake the time or money for the. much needed recreation all require to be ïealthy and happy, particularly the lard working girls. Fpllowing the sketch of Miss Cassiay's life were a few remarks by our V. C. T. U. Pres. Mrs. Voorheis, on the essons to be learned from the beautiul flowers. Miss Rose Allen spoke very iterestingly along the same line. Flowers were Uien distributed by aosenladies, around the wards in both lospitals and there were plenty flowers 'or aU for which we heartily thank the riends who sö generously contributed. 'hose enjoying the sweet odors and right colors, will some day pay the ebt, by eontributing similarly to bther u f lering ones.
