Chicago, Aug. 18.- In a dance hall in the rear of Félix Worst's saloon, 3352 Laurel street, early thls morning, a jealous lover shot and instantly killed pretty Maggie Canten. She was 17 years old, and lived with her parents at 2625 Emerald avenue. Thomas O'Neal is charged by the polics with the crime. He is at liberty. The motive for the shooting is supposed to have been the preference the dead girl showed for an unknown young man, believed to be either James Murphy or Hickey Normine, her former sweethearts. After the shot was fired O'Neal and the stranger fled through a side door of the saloon, and the pólice have not been able to flnd either. of them.
