Shepherd, Mich., September 13.- The second weeks of the StruWe imquest will be entered upon today. The verdict will be reached about Wednesday. To sav what this will be is difflcult, if not impossible to foretell. The opinión of the Shepherdites is overwlielniingly in favor of the mur3er theory. It is expected, however, that in forniulating their verdict the jurors will not be inflnenced by the vílmvs of frlends and nelghbora aud will not yield to the popular clamor of the inhatiitants of the little viilage. As matters stand now the uiurder theory has a very weak foundation, for the drift of the testimony offered last week furnished strong arguiuents to substantiate the claim that Bliner E. Struble killed himself. The testimony offered this tar has served a twofold purpose. To disprove the claims and proof of thosï who adhere to the murder theory. an to build up the theory of suicide. The murder theorists claim that t'.io murdered fired the shot while Struli'.c was in the vault, opening the safe. If that is true. if Stnible was about to open the safe, when the revolver was discharged, lie had his right hand on the knob of the safe door, and the bullet in grazing his back could not have struck his right arm, where it did. The suïcide theorists claim that when Struble iili liis left hand öred the shot to convey exactly this inipression. ho forgot to hold his arm on the knob aud held it in its natural position. They also inthnate that tli shot laight have boen fired aecidentally. It was certainly a phot from nn exceedingly (-lose range, os the powder marks indícate.
