Mr. and Mrs. Lamson's many friends wlll be glad to hear oí their wanderiags abroad and how well they are satisfied with tbe trip. After landing in Rotterdam, Mr. and Mrs. Lamson spent a week in Holland, seeing mucli of. that "tiny" but wonderful country. Thon on to Colog-ne, and vip (he lihnic by day steamer to iíainz, taking Ib all the romantic beauty of scenery c n the way. Bayrcuth, with its magnificent Wagner Festivnl, was the rext great atcraction. Here Mr. and Mrs. Lamson heard all four operas of the XibelHmgenring as well as Parsival. Iha historieally musical surroundings wovc n.ost Inspiring, although the cast was not superior to many in this couDtry. At Nuremberg 'Mr. and .Mrs. Laiison met Trof. and Mrs. Stanley, and efter having a plensant visit with them, went on to Munich; through Austria and the Bavarian Tyrol to Froiburg. Here the beautiful Freiburg ca i.hedral charmed and delighte I them. Then to Baden-íBaden, a fashionable and attractive place, where tlipy remained a week. Mr. and Mrs. Lamson plan spending the remainder of their vacation In Swltzerland; among the lakes and in Florence. Here Mr. Lmison expects to devote himself to stcdy for somt time, having foiuid a man with whom he tUinks ït will be satisfactory to work. Last Saturday the Miases Kearney went to Detroit to spend a few days with friends. Miss Lucy Colé retv.rned Saturdaj morning. Miss Colé will reside at No. :!i Washtenaw nvenue. MTS. Samuel Beakes is at WSiltmore for a few days. Tuesday afternoon betweon 3 and ti o'olook Mts. John Bennett gave a pretty thinible party for about sixtyeijílit: ladies. The floral decorations. beauttful asters, were daintily arranged to give tito effect of a yellow room, and a pink and white one. Ao elegant lunch, consisting of chicken Balad, olives. ■ : ■ ■ ' ner coffee, icecream and cike, was served by eighr young ladies to the guests as they sat about chatting, and the afternoon passed off most pleasantly. Next Sunday St. Andrew's Sunday school will resume its regular work Cor the year.
