George C. Hawes and his son, Clark C. Hawes, have purchased the St. James hotel of George B. Shetterley and took possession of that popular hostelry this morning. These two gentlemen are well and favorably known all over our city and through their long connection with the Arlington hotel to the traveling public as well. They expect to make a number of minor ehanges in the arrangement of the St. James and in the near future will erect an addition to the hotel building on the west. The rates will remain at $1.50 a day.
