The war spirit struek the University hard on Safcurday, and patriotic demonstratlons were thé order of the day. Begintfjng about noon a rnjêk ïunvhid up and down State Street and around through the business district. The paraders were dressed in all sorts 01 Ri-dic-uiii' eostümes and cairied all kinds ■( weapons, from ball bats and pitchforks to swords and muskets. At short intervals a salvte was flred from a cannon at one of the fraternity houses.
