Harmony is the watchword among he Democrats of the Fifth vvard this year. Of all the factional rovvs in the county, wlth the possible exception of he Judson-Moran scrap at Ann Arbor, he Fifth ward has been the seat of the greatest hostilities heretofore. The prospects were "excellent" for a graat ■uetion this year tor alderman, the friends of John Terna and Math Stein ach having the war paint on and long bowie knives up their sleeves. This morning those greatly interested in the uccess of the Democratie ticket met at the Occidental parlors and suceeeded n patching up the nictst quality of harmony. Both Mr. Terns and Mr. Stein withdrew in favor oí Milo E. Gage nd the Foersters telephoned that the ompromise candidato would receive heir hearty support. Aid. Davis, who 10 doubt has been counting on a split in the Democratie ranks, vrill flnd that he has run up against a solid wall of Democratie strength. The Democratie ward L-aueuses last nlght turned out exáctly as was antlcipated on I he aldermanic nominations. . First ward - The unusual number of 30 Deinocrts turned om in this-ivai-ii. The baltnt stiVHi- Martin Dawsun 19, Wm. F. Blanchard 11. Second. ward- 'Claude 'H.' Pearsáll received the nomination hy acclamatlon. Third ward - JohRLamb carne very near being knocked óut for a renomination. The informal ballot stood - Lamb 11, Kniseley 11. On the formal ballot Mr. Lamb received 14 and Mr. Kniseley 9. Fourth ward - M. B Shaffer had no oppositon fer a renomination. Fifth ward - About a hundred Democrats were present ar.cl nominated Milo Gage by a'clamation.
