Tooth brushes are being made in England with the bristles mounted in detachable plates, which flt in recesses In the handle and are locked by a spring catch, making them removable when they become worn. Toothache is to be cured by a new instrument, consisting of silver and zinc strips of metal, hinged at one end, one strip to rest on the tooth and the other on the gum, forming a metallic circuit to act on the nerve. An Englishman has invented a hand warmer for cyclers consisting of a perforated metal tube to slip inside the handle bar and hold a prepared fuel, made largely of charcoal, which burns slowly and gives off enough heat to warm the handles. The patent also ineludes the applicatjon of the same de. vice to the pedáis to warm the feet. A newly designed bicycle support is composed of two clips fastened to the frame of the wheel under the saddle to support a vertical rod, which bends outward below the under clip, and can be swung outward and lowered to the ground to sustain the wheel, the rod being raised and turned close to the rear wheel when not in use.
