Eaton Mills, Dec. 10. - Mr. and Mrs. Samuel llussell -ason. - Our Bohool is doing well under the supervisión of Mr. Stayer of Ypsi. - A Mr. Burgesshassub-oontracted to carry the mail between Paint Creek and Maybee. -Frank Eldridge of N. T. is spending a fow weeks with his aunt, Mrs. J. Bunton. - Soarlet fever is in the southern portion of -this town. Mr. Alva Pnitt lost his only child last week. a victiw to this disease. - The lyceum is doing finely, and the meeting8inorease iu interest. Queations so kindly suggested by the Ann Arbor Abgus were very aooeptable. Aaide frorn discussions, we have some lively and interesting literary exercises, inusic, eto. Charles Peppiatt one of the leading members, has returned from Chelsea, where he has spent the summer. - Thanksgivingday was generally observed in Augusta. Mr. Ebersole, at Webster's old stand gave a ball, and we understand the attendanco was small The Grangers had a dinner at their hall near Paint Creek. The weather was unfavorable but a goodly number young and old met and had a good time. Hon. J. W. Childs rou.a the proclamaron ana 8. V. Ballard recitedapoem, after which about sixty persons sat down to a real Thanksgiving dinner. Dinner over a toast was proposed and promptly responded to by Mr. Childs. Pieces were spoken by the children, and an address read by Mr. Ballard.
