The following resolutious were adopted at a meeting of' the Ladies' Beaevolent. Society of the M. E. Churcb, held in the parlors of tlie churoh Jan. 21, 1880: WHEBEA8, It has pleased God in bis divine providenco to remove from c;ir midst by death, our beloved President, Ehzibuth Smith. Bhe wua one of the oldest marabers of this socitty, and one v.'bom we all loved, for her noble cbristiaiï character, and untiring eíforta to promoto the welfare of the church of (Jurist ; therofore Resolved, That we bow ia humble subuiission to the divine vvill, and tb ank our Heavenly Father for the assurance that we feel that for her, " To die is gain." Thereforp, Resolved, That by her death we have lost a faithful and efïioicnt worker, and ihat aa a member of tbis Böciety, we deeply mourn her loss ; and that ws, ever cherish in eur beartg, her ohrietian example.'
