The dog's name is "Santly." He is a mongrifl with considerable of the terrier in him.and endowod with mce tban usual intellio-ence. It saoms tlmt wlien the rooster "Dick" was a very yonng chicken he took to tho dog "Sandy," who retunicd the aflecüon wannly, and carecí for the little f'ovvl with all the tenderness possible. Wlien the went to sleep at hight "Dick" woiüd sinig up to him, anil thus obtain tlie warmth of his body. Sinoe Chen thcy liave been constant associates and playmates, tho roosier not seeming to care a partiële for other roosters or hens, whilo tlie dog prelerredtoplay with "Dick" ralher than -with animáis of his own kind. "Bandy" allows "Dick" to perch on his back, whüe he lays stretched between two chaii-s, and tlie roosier suceceds 'm sticking on whilo the dog leaps l'rom one chair to another. All who saw the dog and rooster the other night were greatly amused with thcir antics. It is a bad sign to see in roligious circles a way of ÜlMring and acting as if ouc set of men (aud a small set at tlíat) had all the theolojy worth havins..-
