What is Before Us?

  Let no man be foolish enough to indulge hope that Grant will be beaten at Chicago. The whole crowd of plunderers and spoil-seekers are with him, he will carry the Convention with hardly a protest. But he can be beaten at the polls, and those who desire to maintain liberty, and avert -the destruction of our institutions, will unite to oppose him.
