The delegates divided themselves into three representativo districts and reported as their choice for delegate-atlarge E. P. Allen of Ypsilanti, and from the districts as Tollows: First District- Wm. II. Lay, liinti township: R. II. Marsli, Saline; W. K. Childs, Pittsfleld; J. W. Blakeslee, York; Clinton Spencer, Ypsilanti city. Second District- John F. Lawrence, R. E. Frazer, Joe T. Jacobs, Ann Arbor citv; I. N. S. Foster, Ann Arbor town; Vm. Galpin, Superior. Third District- L. W. Brigers, Scio; Geo. J. Gnnrell, Sylvan; A. R. Ueal, Scio; W. H. Pottle, Manchester; Thos. Jewett, Lima. Chairman of committee on resolutiona reported the annexed: Resolved, That by the republicana of Washtenaw county ín convention assembled, that we heartily endorse the platform and principies adopted at the republican national convention of Chicago of June 3, and pledge for those principies and the candidates representmg them an earnest and faithtul support. Resolved. That we earnestly request the delegares to the state convention to use all honorable means lirst and last, to secure the nomination of our fellowcitizen, Ilon. Hice A. Beal for goyernor, believing as we do that no citizen i more worthy of that high honor and none that could lili the position witli greater ability or be more watchful of the interests of this commonwealth. Delégate Frueauff objected to that portion of the resol ution af ter the name ! of Hon. Rice A. Beal, as fulsome flat tery and as going too f ar in behalf of j any candidate, although he was not himself opposed to the nomination of Mr. Beal. Protesting he moved an amendment, to strike it out, but no one supporting, the resolution as a whole was adopted. Delégate? of the county only were authorized to iill the vacancy. Mr. Allen suggested the delegates meet at the Hurd house the night before the convention. Chairman Wheeler said he didn't know whether it was a .temperance house or not. Speeches by Allen, Frazer and Prof. Winchell, adjournment following.
