Scio, Sept. 14; - Frost is expécted evèiy night and farmers are büsy securihg their corn -The farmers of this vicinity are delighted to again hearthe Scio mili lmmming her old tune. - C. M. C. Peters arrived hornë on Saturday, and intends to pursüe his studies in the law school. - J: Jedele, Jr., of this town, had his hand almost severed by a knife in the hands of the band cutter, while threshing last week. - John Cunninghamwhoseillness was announced in a previous issue, died on the lOth inst., in liis 63d year. II is funeral was attended by a number of relatives from Owosso. - A lively time ensued at our school meeting last week. Our annual eandidate, who at a former election sternly denounced one of the aspirante for office for voting for himself, embraced the opportunity in the absence of his oppoiient to announce the wonderful discovery that a person has a legal right to doso. Butit might aswell have been a mystery to liim yet. -One of our Scioites desirotisof visiting his fair one, and to irfake his Cohv pany niore ácceptrtbie, pfoceeded to a neiglibor's grapery and rernoving hi8 blouse filled it-ttithan ampie store of the luscious fruit, and then wended his way onward and passed a delightful evening discnssing with, and explaining to, the oíd man his experimenta in the culture of the grape, &c. But alas, he was cletected in the light-fingered exploit and it puzzles him to know that some are allotted to be unfortunate
