HOT TIME IN JUSTICE COURT
Bowen Didn't Like Brown's Stinging Argument
CALLED HIM A LIAR
And Hoad Didn't Like Sawyer's Boquets a Bit Better
There was a hot time in Justice Gibson'a court Tuesday when the Cox vs. Binder trial was being argued.
Attorney Arthur Brown took occasion to throw some of his choicest hooks into William Henry Bowen, who was a witness against Brown's client. Brown was addressing the jury and Bowen stod the roasting as long as he could.
"You're a liar," he shouted, "and if I had you out in the back room for about five minutes, I'd -"
Just what Bowen would do in that five minutes was lost by the rapping of Justice Gibson for order in the court.
"I guess you are not dangerous," said Brown and he continued sawing wood as if nothing had happened.
Then came Mr. Sawyer's turn at the fun. A man named Hoag had testified against Sawyer's client and he took occasion to tell the jury what he thought of him.
Hoag didn't like the bouquets any more than did Bowen and he interrupted the argument to tell Sawyer so.
Altogether it was the liveliest vaudeville performance that Justice Gibson has had on his stage in some time and if he can only get a return engagement he would be certain of a packed house consisting of an appreciative crowd.
