The first of the series of illustrated lectures on Rev. Sheldon's interesting and familiar story, "In His Steps," will be given by the Rev. Tedrow at Trinity Lutheran church on next Sunday evening. This story, which, as is well known, was written in the form of sermons and first delivered on Sunday evenings by the author to his own congregation in Topeka, Kansas, during the winter of 1896, was later printed as a serial in The Advance of Chicago. It met with such favor that arrangements were made at once to have it printed in book form. That is might reach the largest possible number of people it was given to the public in a cheap form, the author's desire being to make it helpful in forming Christian character rather than a source of revenue to himself or his publishers. It has been widely read and has proved a great blessing to many who have applied its standard of discipleship to their own lives. This series will present lines of thought which it is believed will be interesting alike to old and young.
