ACCUSED OF STEALING OATS

James Hall, of Lodi, was formerly a tenant on a farm owned by James Burg, of Hill street, in this city. When he left the farm a few weeks ago Burg says that Hall took thirty bushels of oats with him which Burg would like to have returned.

To recover the property he had a warrant issued for Hall's arrest on the charge of larceny and on Saturday last Hall was brought to Justice Gibson's court to answer to the charge. He pleaded not guilty and the trial of the case was set for April 30.

As a result of the trouble Hall, it is said, is about to make things warm for Burg, whom he thinks has had him arrested without provocation, claiming that the oats were his property.
