Salem, June 5.- Mr. and Mrs. Lew Stanbro spent Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Stanbro.
Mrs. Frank Tousey is vlsitlng at Wayne.
Miss Lois Rich and Miss Laura Austin will take charge of the Salem school the coming year.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Haskel, en route from New York, stopped over Sunday with their father, H. B. Fhayer.
Mrs. Susie Spence is spending the week with Lansing friends.
E. V. Walker is building about two miles of American fence.
Geo. Shannon and lady, of Wayne, called on Salem friends last Friday in company with Rev. Shannon and wife.
Mrs. Clara Bristol, of St Johns, is vlsiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Murray.
Dr. Hooper, of Detroit, was in town Monday.
Forest Roberts has taken the position as clerk in Wheeler's store, lately vacated by Fred Galpin.
The Salem Farmers' club meeting was held last Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Atchison, with a good attendance. The Hon. Delos Fall gave a pleasant talk on Rural high schools.
Memorial services were held at the West Salem church and Thayer's cemetery last Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Teetzel, of Detroit, and Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Potts, of Milford, were guests of W. P. Lane and family over Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Brokaw visited friends near Ann Arbor over Sunday.
Children's Day exercises will be held at West Salem chuich next Sunday.
