Sams Released From Jail

SAMS RELEASED FROM JAIL

   Edwards Sams, who has been in the county jail for several weeks charged with stealing property belonging to a guest at the Cook house about 2 years ago, was tried before Justice Gibson Tuesday afternoon. He pleaded not guilty, but was apparently willing to pay the costs in the case, which he did and was released.

  Sams brought his arrest about himself, it is said, by making a statement to some chums that he had taken the property and thrown a portion of it down an elevator shaft, where it was afterwards found.
