A bill of complaint to set aside a deed was filed Wednesday by Attorney Arthur Brown, representing Horace G. and Jenny Prettyman.

It is averred that the Prettymans are joint owners in fee simple of lots 1 and 2 in block 2 south of Huron street, range 13 east. That they derived their titles by a deed of conveyance from Otis C. Johnson, executor of the estate of the late Lucy W. S. Morgan. In July, 1881, it is claimed that George Lant, Sr., obtained a judgment for $5,882 against Elijah Morgan, husband of the deceased Lucy Morgan, and that the property was sold to John Laughlin at sheriff's sale, the judgment against it not being satisfied. This sale, it is claimed, was irregular as at the time the sale was made the property belonged to present complainants, Mr. Prettyman and his wife.

On the death of John Laughlin his heirs began proceedings to have the property turned over to them, hence the present bill to set aside the deed given to John Laughlin. The Prettymans set forth that they have been in possession of the property for twenty years.
