Happenings In Pittsfield

Pittsfield Junction, August 12.- Ross Read, of Pinckney, has been visiting friends in this vicinity the past week. The Roberts Sunday school has a new state traveling library. Mrs. Chas. Pontney has returned from her northern trip. Several of our teachers are attending the institute in Ann Arbor this week. A party of young people from the Roberts and Carpenter districts held a picnic at Whitmore Lake last Saturday. Frank White will teach in the Crittenden district the coming year. Beans will be a poor crop in this section this year. Anna Pontney is visiting friends at Mt. Pleasant. Threshing has begun in these parts. Sunday working is becoming the fashion around here. Frances Ticknor entertained a number of her friends last Tuesday, it being the occasion of her tenth birthday.
