The Minneapolis Street Railway company experimented recently with the use of a megaphone street announcer, says a dispatch from Minneapolis to the Chicago Record-Herald. The device may be adopted on all cars in Minneapolis. The mechanism of the arrangement is simple. A metallic tube carries the sound to the roof of the vestibule, connecting with the megaphone just inside the car door and dellvering the sound clearly and distinctly to the passengers. The motorman, instead of the conductor, announces the streets under the new plan.
