SALINE MAN LOSES TWO FINGERS

Saline, Mich., Aug. 27. - Joe Tripp, while working around a gasoline engine, had two fingers on his left hand so badly crushed that Dr. Wallace was obliged to amputate them. Mr. Tripp is getting along well since the accident.

The funeral of F. Calkoon, who died of old age, was held at the residence of Alfred Daniels on Lodi Plains. He was 75 years 11 months and 13 days old. 

Geo. Wood of Omaha, Neb., is making a short visit here.

Miss Lina Rogers and Mrs. Olive Hammond are spending a few days in Detroit.

Ira Wood and family took an outing to Belle Isle last week.

The social at Mr. Sweezy's was well attended.

Fred Nissley has been in Detroit.

Mrs. Emmert has been visiting in Detroit.

Mrs. Chandler, Mr. K. Bartlett, M. McKinnon, Miss Ruckman and Miss M. Jones went on the excursion to Belle Isle yesterday.

Mrs. Asher Van Duzer and daughter have been visiting Ann Arbor.

The Eastern Stars will give an excursion to Port Huron on September 5. It starts form here at 6:15 a.m., sun time.

John Koch is at Mt. Clemens for a week.

A.A. Wood bought a fine herd of cattle in Chicago last Saturday.

H. Fish has returned from a family reunion held at Wamplers lake last week.

Miss Rose Allen is at Superior attending a family reunion and picnic. 

Wm. Judson & Son have sold their hardware stock to Adam Horning and Otto Bliss.

Miss Mable Johnson and mother have returned from Whitmore Lake.
