TAIL-END COLLISION ON ANN ARBOR ROAD
BETWEEN GRAVEL AND FREIGHT TRAINS NEAR CHILSON
Chilson, Mich., Oct. 2.--(Special.)--Last night about 8 o'clock a freight train on the Ann Arbor road overtook and collided with a gravel train. The engineer and fireman of the freight jumped and escaped unhurt. The engine, No. 21. was considerably damaged. As the accident happened away from any switch, the special excursion from Frankfort to Toledo was held up for a couple hours.
----------
The belated Frankfort excursion arrived in Ann Arbor after midnight Wednesday night, and about 30 people bound for Detroit, found that they had missed connections. Most of them went up to the American house, while a few economical ones slept on the depot benches and saved their 50 cents.
