Lansing, Mich., Oct. 23. - Reports to the state board of health from representative physicians in active general practice in various parts of the state show that rheumatism, neuralgia, tonsilitis, bronchitis and diarrhea, in the order named, caused the most sickness in Michigan during the past week. Meningitis was reported present at 3 places, whooping cough at 13, smallpox at 15, measles at 18, diphtheria at 32, scarlet fever at 72, typhoid fever at 80, and consumption at 223 places.
