Taxes Slightly Lower This Year
City Tax Alone Showed An Increase.
The Tax Rate This Fall In Ann Arbor--Comparison With Rate Last Year.
Taxes will be slightly lower this fall than last in Ann Arbor. This is the off year on state taxes, the legislature happily not having been in session, thus saving the taxpayer 86 cents on a $1,000 assessment. The school tax is 35 cents less on $1,000 and the county tax 2 cents less. The city tax of last summer was 80 cents higher. Thus the decrease in the total tax rate for the year is 43 cents. The fall taxes are, however, $1.23 less on $1,000 valuation.
