He Was Of The Wrong Color
A supervisor in one of the townships of the county took a little boy to the Coldwater school the other day under somewhat peculiar circumstances. The father and mother of the little boy were white people. They had several other children, all white, but this fellow was colored. The mother died and the husband afterwards wento the supervisor and said he didn’t want to keep the little fellow any longer. The boy was a bright little chap between 4 and 5 years old. It developed that the husband had boarded a colored man who was chopping wood for him before the birth of the child.
A good home was provided for the little boy at Coldwater.
