Refused To Settle The Bill

Sylvia Linden, the star in "Gay Lord Quex," which played at the Athens theater last week stopped at the Cook house while in the city. She was accompanied by her colored maid. All was lovely until Friday morning, when she came to settle her bill. A bill for the maid was included, but the actress refused to settle it, and created quite a scene in the office by the emphasis of her refusal. Bystanders heard the dispute which left the impression on their minds that an actress, who could afford the luxury of a maid could afford to pay her board while she waited on her.
