Opposed to King's Title.
Edinburgh, Scot., April 9.
There was a curious scene at a meeting here called to make preparations for the forthcoming visit of King Edward to Scotland. Several of the local Scottish officials refused to have anything to do with welcoming the king until he dropped the title of Edward VII. The objectors protested that the title was an insult to Scotland. Considerable uproar prevailed, but the meeting ultimately refused to listen any further to the malcontents.
