ANN ARBOR MAN GETS GOOD JOB
Vernor J. Willey Appointed Superintendent of New
INSTITUTION FOR BLIND
To Be Built at Saginaw-Merrill Park Chosen as Site for the Employment School
The state board for the locating of the new industrial school for the blind at Saginaw met in that city Tuesday and decided upon Merrill park as a site, providing the city will give a clear title, make sewerage and water connections and furnish water at cost. The site is situated on Michigan avenue on the southerly part of the west side of the river, with a good pavement and c-car line.
Vernon J. Willey, of 711 Arbor street, this city, was appointed superintendent of the new institution and will have full charge from now on. His salary the first year will be $1,800; thereafter it will be $1,500 and living apartments.
Mr. Willey has been connected with the U. of M. hospital for several years as instructor in electro-therapeutics and has had full charge of the X-ray experiments.
