MISSES STORM GIVEN CHINA SHOWER

A very pretty china shower was given Monday by Miss Babel Benham, at her home on Hill street, in honor of Misses Sayda and Bessie Storms. The house was very tastefully decorated in daisies and red poppies. After all of the guests had arrived a merry hour was spent in playing hearts. Miss Benham then led the way to the dining room, where a dainty lunch was served. The girls snapped their fingers in the face of superstition and thirteen sat down to the artistically decorated table. In the center of the table stood a huge bouquet of red poppies. To thirteen of them a card had been attached by which each girl could unravel her destiny. The young lady securing a hairpin at the end of her string was doomed to be an old maid, while the one finding a bouquet of sweet peas was to be the first bride. Much laughter was created by Miss Benham's reading of "How to Cook a Husband." A market basket trimmed with green was then brought forth and tomorrow's brides with exclamations of delight unwrapped the beautiful pieces of china with which their friends had remembered them. The out of town guests were Miss Belle Murphy, of Detroit, and Miss Alice Chase, of Jackson.
