During the storm Monday lightning struck the blacksmith shop on the old Blum farm about five miles South of the city, in Lodi, and it was totally destroyed with the contents.

The building was the property of Mrs. Barbara Horning, who recently purchased the farm, but the Blum heirs had considerable property stored in the building. Amongst the property destroyed were several old relics, such as an old-fashioned pair of steelyards, which were purchased In Wayne about fifty years ago, an old turning lathe and an antiquated paint mill.
