London, Aug. 13. - A large number of promotions and appointments to the Royal Victorian Order, in connection with the king's recent visit to Ireland, are gazetted. They include Lord Londonderry and Lord Dudley as knights grand cross, and Lord Charles Beresford, Right Hon. Horace Curzon Plunkett, Sir Anthony Patrick McDonnell and a number of Irish officials as knights commander. Thirty-seven officers of the army, navy, Irish constabulary and police are made commanders or members of the fourth or fifth class of the Royal Victorian Order.
