Good Job Of Culvert Work
Street Commissioner Ross finished a big Job in record time Monday night. It is the rebuilding of the culvert north of the Ann Arbor railroad bridge on Main street. This culvert was damaged in the flood of a year ago and has never been properly repaired. The board of works concluded to have the work done this season and Friday afternoon Commissioner Ross started to build a concrete culvert at that point. It was necessary that travel on the road should not be obstructed and so half the culvert was built at once. In twenty-four working hours there was built 32 feet of culvert with a 4-foot opening and not a team was delayed over ten minutes.
The culvert is very substantially built and will stand for years. The remainder of the work is now being done.
