Wm. C. Booth Arrested While Removing Goods
FROM CANDY KITCHEN
Was Former Proprietor of the Place--Examination Will be Held Monday Next
Wm. C. Booth was arrested Saturday night, bu Officer, Isbell, while in the act of removing goods from the Candy Kitchen, on State street, owned by Frank B. Gilbert.
Mr. Booth was formerly proprietor of the candy kitchen, selling out last spring to Mr. Gilbert. He remained in the employ of Gilbert for a time, it being a part of the contract that Mr. Booth was to teach the new purchaser the business. This fall, when business started up, Booth, who was in Toledo, was secured to assist Mr. Gilbert in the business.
About midnight Saturday night Officer Isbell noticed a man carrying goods out of the back door of the store and at once notified Gilbert that he had caught Booth in the act. Booth was lodged in jail and Monday complaint was made before Justice Doty charging him with the larceny of $26 worth of goods.
Booth, when arraigned, demanded an examination, and the hearing was set for Monday next. In lieu of $200 bonds he is in jail.
