The Clenadeum was well attended Friday evening at high school building, there being about fifty present.

The first number on the program was a "History of the Clenadeum," by Mr. Wuster. He told of the founding of the society in February, 1900, and of the various societies which preceded, and finally grew into the Clenadeum of today. The second number was by Mr. Fowler, who handled the "Clenadeum News" very cleverly. He suggested that hereafter it be called "The Hot-Air Chronicle."

Lastly came the debate, "Resolved that the spendthrift is of more benefit to society than the miser."

Mr. Wright and Miss Higgins, for the affirmative, claimed that the spend thrift did much good by his liberallity, while the miser kept money from going into circulation. Mr. Abbott and Miss Steeb, for the negative, claimed that the spendthrift set a bad example while the miser had practically no influence on society.

The decision of the judges was for the affirmative.

A critic's report was next given by George McKracken.

After three minutes recess, a business meeting was held. It was decided to hold a pronuciation match next Friday evening. Last year a spelling match was given, and nearly a hundred contested. It is hoped that a still larger number will turn out this year.

Miss Cady, the elocution teacher has prepared a long list of words which are generally mispronounced. She has kindly consented to conduct the meeting.

The society adjourned at 9:40.
