PARTY GIVEN FOR BRIDES

CHARMING FUNCTION IN HONOR OF MRS. WOOD-ALLEN

Gentleman Astonished Ladies By Faithfulness With Which They Described Costumes

A "bride" party was given last night by Miss Florence Pomeroy at her home, 1309 Wilmot street, in honor of Mrs. Mario Wood-Allen. Twenty young people were present, brides of one to six years, who entered into the enjoyment of college songs and question games. The most amusing entertainment was the description the gentlemen were requested to make of the gowns of the ladies whom they took to supper. The ladies were amazingly surprised at the accuracy of the accounts; French knots, lace and fagoting were described in detail. But upon investigation it was found that the "written" account was in the "hand" of the husband, and had been given to the escort for convenience sake. College songs under college banners were participated in by all, Mr. Wood-Allen singing one of his own, "The Alarm Clock," to the tune of "Solomon Levi."

The "grooms" who were present enjoyed the evening quite well as the brides.
