SUCCESSFUL AFFAIR BY THE SUNSHINE CIRCLE

-

Took Place at Baptist Guild Hall - Mrs. Rexford, State Secretary Was Present

The Sunshine Circle of the King's Daughters of this city gave an at home last week at the Baptist Guild hall, from 8 to 10 o'clock. A hundred invitations were sent out and the crowd was large and the sociable an enjoyable one. The parlors were decorated with palms and cut flowers and the dining room, where the chocolate was served, was festooned in pink and green. On the table was a great bowl of pale green mignonette. Those who received the guests were Misses Sarah Wright, Effie Godfrey, Luly Dailey, Emma Alexander, Cora Alexander. Those who served were Misses Margaret Scott, Grace Jamison, Ethel Bentley, Ethel Bancroft, Mildred Sherk, Grace Lane, Catharine Brewster, Bertha Eldert.

The state secretary, Mrs. Rexford, of Detroit, was present and gave an interesting talk on the work of the King's Daughters in her own city; and also Mrs. Thomas, of Port Huron, who explained the work as it was carried on there.

Mrs. Murfin, of Ann Arbor, gave a vote of thanks to the Sunshine Circle of the King's Daughters for the pleasant evening they had spent.

Frank Whitlark and Bert Audette furnished the music through the evening, which was not the least of the entertainment.
