THE DEATH OF OLD ENGINEER

     Elmer E. Lovett, of Durand, for the past twenty years employed by the Ann Arbor railroad as a locomotive engineer, died at "Charlie's hotel," Friday morning, of a complication of diseases. He was operated upon at the hotel about a month ago and since that time has been under the care of his brother, A. B. Lovett, of Beulah.
     Mr. Lovett was born in Lenawee county, where is grandfather was one of the early settlers. He was 42 years of age and had been a railroad employee since the age of 16 years.
     He left a wife and an adopted daughter and three brothers and three sisters: Samuel Lovett of Grand Rapids, William Lovett and A. B. Lovett of Beulah, Mich., Mrs. L. N. Mays of Beulah, Mrs. Julia M. Brustmaker of Hancock, and Miss Carrie Lovett of Chicago.
