At a prayer meeting held in the First Methodist church in Portland, Ore., recently a lady ejcpreased her inability to see why certain things were thus and so, and was eepeoially severe upon Providence for inflicting so much mud upon mankind. Said she: "No matter how much 1 niay clean, iny house 13 continually tracked withmud; my porchea are kept in a filtliy condition, and it's uotliing but mud, mud, mud."
