The company lias no record, nor have I any recollection ol the company which built that road, receiving iny money whatever in aid in building wlnit is now known as the "South Lyon branch." If any money was paid by you and the subscribers to the paper before me you umi they ouflbt to have receipts or sr,iue evidence of that fact in your potteasion, and tliua ba ablu to state the exact amount p iid, mid the dates to whom it was paid. Will you be kind enough to send me a copy of your receipt and also give me a Hst of the naines and the amounts paid by each of the parties whose signatures are subscribed to the document you sent me. If you or any of the parties have lost their receipts, will you and they please miike an afli lavit, stating the amou.it paid by each and to whom paid and when ? In the remonslrance sent rae, I notice that a wish is expressed that this company sell the South Lyon branch to some company tuatwotild opérate it. In reply to that part of your communication, I have to say that this company is ready and rilling to sell the sald branch to any one who will opérate it - especially if they stipulate to opérate it, as you and your associates reqiiire. The company will sell the South Lyon branch at a rice of which none ouglit to complalfl, who eslimates its value as higlily as you do; yiz: We will accept in cash wh-it the raiU are worth and the properly that jfoes wilh It.
