The objects of the New York State Roads Improvement association are set forth below. It is a pity that thore is not a similar organization in every suite of the Union: To encourage such legislation (for road improvement) and to unite all good citizens in its support is one of the prime objects of the New York State Roads Improvement association. lts membership is growing, and it already include niany prominent wen in different parts of the state. It invites to its jnembershii) every citizen who believes that the common roads should be improved, and bolicits the fullest and f rankest discussion on all points germane to the general subject. It is in every sense a liberal organization - more moral than pions, moro righteous tlian religious, too practical to be political, and a stranger to creeds, socts and rings. It invites the aid and co-operation of all citizens, and especially of those agricultural and industrial organizations which have been f ormed in the interest of the farmers and the business men of the state. It will publish fom time to time practical information upon the general subject of road construction, and will, through its offlcers and mrabers, agitate the question of good roads at such public gatheringa in the variĆ³os eountiea as would be likely to take an interest in this important movement. lts work and object are founded in pldlantnropy and it deserves the aid and good will of all mankind. If the reader is not alreadya memberlet him considor whether he can in any moderate way perform a more patriotic duty than ta join this association and invite his neighbor to do likewise. - Isaac B. Potter, Secretary.
