Formerly the duty has been twoand onehalf cents a pound, while the new rate will only be seyen-tenths of a cent a pound, niaking a reduction of one and four-liíths of a cent a pound. Tliey say nothing about that. Moreover, the great Mills bilí, which tliey all brag about, put the duty at one and one-half cents a pound, more Mían doublé the rate levied by the new law. The free trade organs do not mention thateither, as tliey should i n fairuess. Capt. The soutli should no longer be handled witli gloves. Among the planks in Mr. Gorman's letter of acceptance is this : Tiiird- The importatlon of all raw materittls frec of duly. Farmers'. You know what this means? It means: Free wool 1 Free wheat! Free barley ! All farm producís (which are colisidered raw materials) free I How is it? Do you stand on that platform with Jimmie?
