At tlie annnal meeting of the Washtenaw County Agricultural and Horticultural Society, held at the court house yesterday at'ternoon, the followinj; officers wcre elected: President- F. B. In opening the meetinsf President Brnun ald tliat the society was to be congrtitulateil npon the fact tb At it had new aud nicely located fair grounds,witli new fences, new and well-arranged building?, and everything in good coiulition. The society has liad a hard struggle for the past four years to get out or debt, and the tact had been pliiinly sliown that the society had many friends in the comtnunity; friends wlio had not only given willingly of their time but of thelr money as well, and cliief iimong such friends he wishrd to place Col. II. S. Dean and Sedgwick Dean, who had been uriliri nir in their eftbrts and always ready to respond to any demnnd made npon them. 'l'iii president íugsested the Idea that the V psilimti and Chelsea fairs be iuritcd to join hands with tlie County Society and tlius have one grand exhibition worthy of Washtenaw county. Tlie race track is not so good as it ouglit to be, and needs the attention of the society. The president also recommended the repealing by the legislature of the act enabling the society to mortgage its real estáte to the amount of $4,000. He also recommended several changes in the bj'-laws and in the premium list, and also gave the secretary a hint that he ought to be well posted in tlie rules and rej{ulations governing the annual exlr.bition. After appointing one or two committees the meeting listened to an informal talk by Editor Suekey on the beet sugnr profpects, and then adjourned.
