F. lürd gave a very intoreating account of the annual meeting of the St ite Horticultural Society at Eatoo aapids. Mr. lürd showed 18 varu-tics f grapes at said meeting. Wnshtvnaw was wel! represented by Me-rs. Evart 11. Scott. A. A. Crozier. The Columhian Fair will outdo the Oentennial and Paris Faii-s in the exhibits di PomolOgy and Horticnlture. The building lor that display will bc 1,000x280 feet. Michigan de oteö $100.000 for this exhiblt. Every fruit grower is expeoted to assist in tuis great exhibtt without any remuncr.it ion. The banquet glven by the citlzena ol Eaton Rápida to the State Society was a most happy and cheeríul conclusión of this euccessful meeting. The Austin apple, exhibited at this meeting was prcmounced the best for its geasom. I wish to correct an error I made in my November report. It was not Mr. Wilder, but Charles Downdng, the greal pomologiat, who named this apple of whieh Han. J. Austin Scott is the originator. At the January meeting of the Washtenaw Horticult viral Society, the topics wlll be: "Nut Culture," by Mr. Ganzhorn, a new and important topic which liever has been discussed here. Tlie entertainment of the next annual meeting by the. eitizens of Ann Arbor and by this society, by A. A. Crozier. Rértewing the lessons of the past season by W. F.
