Hon. John T. Rich, of Elba, was in n the city yesterday. Dr. J. T. Sullivan, of Cliieago, paid a flying visit to Ann Arbor Tuesday. .ynia.n Hulbert, of Manchester, was a carter at the Courier office yesterday. Mi.ss Helen Ames has gone to Minneapolis to visit her sisters Nettie and Mettie. P. L. Lantz, of Nova Seoeia, is visiting his nephew Maurice Lantz, on N. Thiayer st. Rev. Thomas Holmes, of Chelsea,. was a caller at the Courier office Tuesday a. m. Mrs. Rev. J. M. Gelston has been entertaining Miss Eva Adams, of Pontiac, during the week. A. J. Sawyer, oí Lyndon, was in the city yesterday, to attend the republican jubilee. Dr. W. B. Smith, accompanied by by Mrs. Smith, left Monday for Albion, N. Y., to Yisit friends. Mrs. Dr. Garwood went to Detroit yesterday to attend the state Homeopathie Association meeting. Dr. Theodore Feleh, of Ispheming, is visiting his father, Ex-Governor Alpheus Felch, on N. State st. R. D. Giles, of Detroit, came to Ann Arbor yesterday, called here by the illness of his sister Miss Lou Giles. Past Grand Commander Doty went to Jackson yesterday, to attend the meeting of the Grand Commandery. Mrs. Prof. Délos Fall, who has beea visiting here for several days, returned to her home in Albion this a. m. John J. Robison is repairing the house on his farm in Sharon, preparatory to removirag thereto about June lat. L. C. Goodrich, B. F. Watts and John K. Miner have gone to Jackson to attend the Grand Commandery meeting. Frank Moore, of Marquette, clerk of the U. S. court at that place, was in the city Monday, on his way to Jackson. L. W. Midlan, of Marquette, was an Attn Arbor visitor Monday. He was on hls way to the Grand Commandery at Jackson. Mayor Pimgree, of Detroit, was in town yesterday to see the boys and mcidentally to feel for loose Joints in the Rich fence. Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Blitz are expected home the latter part of the month. He is considerably improved in health by his sojourn in the south. Miss Lou Giles, who lias been il: for the past week or so, at the home of Chas. B. Davison, is now conva lescing, much to the happiness of her friends. Mrs. E. E. Baxter, of E. Jefferson st., returned from a stay of several mouths in Florida and the south last Saturday, looking much improved in health. Prof. W. S. Perry went to JackBon last Thursday evening to attend the annual meeting of the State Association of school superintendents, returning Saturday. Secretary James H. Wade, wife and daughter have gone to Portland, Oregon, to te absent about two months Mr. Wade is a delégate to the gen eral assembly of the Presbyterian church, which meets in Portland.
