The New York Press bas recently been gathering expressions from the mayors oL various cities where the electric system is used for street car propulsión, and Mayor Doty sent the following communication, which was published in the press one day last week: Tothe Editor of the Press: gIB- We have flve milea of electrlo road whioh have been in operation two years. The people are lu favor of the system, and have nofearof danger from the trolley wires. It has been a factor In our development. WILL1AM G. DOTY, Mayor. Ann Arbor, Mlch., Sept. '2. The new musical farce comedy, "A Social Session," was presented to a large audieuce at Dohany's opera house last night, and both play and playera scored a big hit. The play is so different from other farce comedies and the scènes, situations and incidents so unusual that the audience was fairly captivated, and the bursts of laughter and applause seemed spontaneous and coutinuous from the rise to the feil of the curtain. The eompany presenting the piece is a talented one and contains some splendid vocalista. The solos, duets and quartets were of a high order of merit, and were excellently reudered. Of that magnificent orchestra, carried by the eompany, too much cannot be sáid in praise ; one could listen forever and not be sated. It is the finest musical organization that has ever visited this city, and is in keeping with the general" character of the entertainment. - Council Bluffs (Ia.) Nonpareil. This eompany will be at Ann Arbor on Saturday. Dexter Leader : Next Sunday will be the last Sunday our people will have the pleasure of hearing Mr. Lawrence Cole at St. James Church, as he severs his connection with the parish to attend a theological seminary at New York City.
