The republicana have placed in nomination for the office of county treasurer, Mr. John Keppler, of Ann Arbor town. Mr. Keppler is a Germán, a native of Wurtemberg,but for the past thirty-eight years a resident of the county of Washtenaw. He has lived in Pittsfield, Northfield, Scio, and Ann Arbor town, during that period. For two years he held the office of treasurer of Ann Arbor town, and for the past twelve years has been director of the school district in which he lives, District No. 5 of Ann Arbor township. For three years Mr. Keppler has been a director oí the Germán Farmer's Fire Insurance Co. of tliis county, and for twelve years he was one of its agents, and has had a great deal to do in making the company a success. He has also been one of the Board of Managers of the County Fair Association for a number of years, and in every place he bas been an honest, prompt, capable, and painstaking oficial. He believes in schools, he believes in good government, he believes iu law and order, he believes in minding his own affaire, and by so doing, and by hard work, he has made a comíortable living lor liimself and Family, besides saving for himself a good farm and home.
