Editor Oourier :- A bi:i looklng to t lie foetterment Oí our country roads i-; promie&d by your represeatatlve, Kline, early ín the session. A moro wortliy cause icannot engage tlie attention of icrar legislatprs this winter. The only iperíect tlirt or gravel road t,lia t I ihave found in tlie state is tlu; five mile itoll roail leadlng from Aun Artoor to iLodi Ilaiitó on the .Saline road. As 'Our r( nresen'tativi' Mills lives on the line of this road, and has this splendid .object lssou coñstantly belore his eyes, I bespeak for liim a faitJiíul i:oadjutor to any man liavIng in view tlie improvement of our country road. ïhere lias been enaugh highway work assessed in tlie tounty ol Washtenaw during the past íifty year.-i to make evei"y rod of country road as good as tliis five miles of toll road. And the only reason the roads are not so .good is because the work has not been Jionestly and Intelligently appliei!. If he committe on roads and bridges ov ix special eommittee to be rappointed by frhe.ineoining legisla ture wül iiome to Ann Arbor and inspect the rtoll road in company with Nelson Saitlierland, the "Supervising Architect" of the same, they will get eome important ,helps to their report. The farmers' clubs and Granges ought -to discuss this road matter, perhaps thy will a f ter the plan is tured. Sharön, Dec. 10, 1892.
