A Chinese Anaesthetic

A curious amesthetic used in China has recently been made known. It is obtalned by placing1 a frog1 in a jar of flour and irritating it by prodding1. Under these circumstanees it exudes a liquid whlofa forms a paste with the flour. This paste, whên dissolved in water, has v-ll marked ansesthetic properties. A f ter the fingcr has been immersed in the liquid for a few minutes it can be cut to the bone without any pain beiiifr feit.
